As I buffed the wax off the red tank I stopped to admire the clear reflection of the rag coming off the clear coat. The stripping, body filler, sanding, primer, basecoat, clear coat, color sanding, buffing, and waxing all came together this week. I really have come to enjoy painting basecoat clear coat paint. It’s good to see an old BIG RED gas tank or front end go from faded, rusty, and dented to straight and shiny. The results are what keep me restoring these old three wheelers. Putting a lot of effort in and then seeing the results of that work is satisfying. Now to putting on the decals and finishing up this restoration.
